Ideal candidate

The minimally qualified candidate has seven-to-ten years design and implementation experience with infrastructure solutions for specific workloads to achieve customer business outcomes. This experience includes architecting, implementing, automating, orchestrating, and managing servers and their attached infrastructure options to optimize resiliency, availability, performance, and manageability of hosted workloads.

Exam contents

This exam has 30 questions.

Here are types of questions to expect:

Other - See the Objectives section below for a description of each type of question used.

Advice to help you take this exam

  • Complete the training and review all course materials and documents before you take the exam.
  • Exam items are based on expected knowledge acquired from job experience, an expected level of industry standard knowledge, or other prerequisites (events, supplemental materials, etc.).
  • Review the list of expected tasks. You must have hands-on familiarity with the listed tools, as well as related tools used by Master-level architects and consultants.
  • Successful completion of the course or study materials alone does not ensure you will pass the exam.
  • A panel of subject matter experts determined the range of possible responses to each practical task to allow for as many outcomes and responses that meet the requirements. Your responses must fall within the range of possible responses to earn credit for each practical task.
  • You will receive a zero for any performance question that is not completed with 100% accuracy - there is no partial scoring.
  • You should save your report by clicking on Print to pdf or email your score report before exiting the environment. You cannot return to the environment later to retrieve your score report. If you fail the exam, you must wait 30 days before you can take it again.

What to Expect with Discrete Option Multiple Choice (DOMC) exams:

This exam uses the DOMC question format. It is quite different than traditional multiple choice exams. It is designed to increase exam fairness, to protect exam integrity, your exam scores and your time.

How is DOMC different?

  • Instead of presenting all the answer options together at one time, DOMC questions present answer options one at a time, at random
  • When an answer option is presented, you select either Yes or No to indicate if the option is correct or not. This process repeats until the question concludes
  • You may see more than one correct option
  • You may receive as few as one option for each test question or several options
  • Once you move forward, you may not go back and change your response to a previous option

We created an HPE sample test to help you practice using this DOMC test format. During registration, you will be asked to confirm that you have completed the HPE DOMC sample test and understand how this exam will perform.

Objectives

This exam has:

20 DOMC questions (discrete option multiple choice)
8 DOMC with lab access questions
2 hands-on/practical tasks.

For the two hands-on/practical tasks, you will be given a list of business and technical requirements. Your score will reflect how well you met the requirements. Read the requirements VERY carefully.

In the practical tasks, you will be required to facilitate a Proof of Concept (PoC) for an advanced compute solution and set up a solution to meet customer requirements.
